A winter sun paradise with endless sunny days, endless sunny beaches and endless smiling locals who treat you like long lost friends, it is easy to see why it is such a tourist hotspot. Take a quick six hour flight and arrive to temperatures over 30ºc, it is a top choice for a winter sunshine holiday.
Gambia Holidays – Visit The Smiling Coast
Gambia offers a really warm welcome and is known as The Smiling Coast. It has a good choice of places to stay, many tourists have been enjoying holidays to Gambia for over thirty years, and all have their favourite hotels. The resorts are all different, take Kololi for example, the main resort that offers a range of basic to luxury hotels. A choice of quiet beach bars to lively discos on the famous Senegambia strip that is right at the heart of the resort. And then there is the second largest resort, Kotu, it is a much more laid back Gambian resort with a smaller number of shops, bars and restaurants, but a wide choice of places to stay. The beach at Kotu is stunning and relatively unspoilt, the wide sands are lapped by the Atlantic and people can laze in the hot sunshine, enjoy a walk along the long expanse of beach or hire a bike and explore.
New Gambia Hotels Opening Winter 2018/19
We Brits have enjoyed Gambia since the 1970’s and tourism continues to become more popular ever year. Trends change and people are now looking for better quality hotels and resorts. The Gambia has recognised this and now has two fabulous hotels under construction and due to open in late 2018. Both hotels are going to enjoy great beachfront locations and will be unique in the fact that they will offer swim up rooms and suites. Situated in the tranquil South Kotu area both the Sunprime Tamala and the African Princess Beach hotels are sure to be an instant hit. With great locations, close to Kotu centre and Kololi as well as one of Gambia’s best beaches, tourists are already booking for their winter holidays at these new prime hotels.
Sunprime Tamala will offer an adult only hotel for over sixteen’s, with tranquil surroundings and stunning sea views it is a great place from which to escape the stresses of everyday life. The African Princess Beach Hotel will be popular with grown up families, the minimum age for this four star plus property will be twelve.
