Andorra is a perfect choice for all round action packed ski holiday away from the busy slopes of France. Situated in the Pyrenees between France and Spain, Andorra has some spectacular views with great slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers and boarders. Andorra ski holidays are also perfect for anyone on a budget with prices in resort a lot more reasonable than other European resorts.
There are a good choice of resorts in Andorra which all offer something different. If you want quiet days with quiet nights suitable for families Arinsal is a great choice or for a lively apres ski scene head for Soldeu or Pas de la Casa and you can party the night away. All resorts offer a great choice of accommodation from basic room only to high standard hotels, each with their own charm.
Ski Andorra - Great value for money!
Arinsal is a lively village offering some of the great value skiing. Great hospitality, long sunny days and plenty of well-prepared confidence building runs make it an ideal destination for beginners and intermediates, whilst the radical 'Freestyle Area' caters well for snowboarders. Arinsal and Pal ski areas are linked with a lift down to the small town of La Massana, and the lift pass now also covers the intermediate ski area of Arcalis, reached by ski bus. Apres ski in Aeinsal is lively and again great value! There is a excellent range of pubs and clubs.
Pas de la Casa is a great choice for a lively ski holiday. This modern, purpose-built resort is close to the French border, and sits at the gateway to Andorra's largest ski area. The nursery area is very central and large, it is situated right next to the resort centre, and intermediate skiers are not left out. There are a wide variety of fantastic well-groomed pistes and long runs that are perfect for long cruising. Pas de la Casa is also widely recognised as a great choice for snowbording, with unpisted terrain, a dedicated snowpark and a halfpipe on offer. During the day there is a wide selection of duty free goods available in the many shops that line the town centre. Nighttimes see the resort come alive with a very lively apres ski, which is not for the faint hearted!
Soldeu is a lively village, very popular with skiers for its relaxed ambiance, great facilities on and off the slopes and thriving bars, clubs and restaurants. The resort spreads out over 4kms in four distinct areas – El Tarter, Incles, Bordes d'Envalira and Soldeu village itself – connected by a regular bus service. Access to the slopes is by modern gondola lifts from either Soldeu village or El Tarter. Excellent beginners slopes, a high proportion of red and blue runs for intermediate skiers, and a snowpark with a halfpipe ensure that there is something for everyone.
