Dubai Holidays - So much to do!
Out and about in Dubai there is loads to do, from enjoying the sunshine, shopping, taking a desert safari or even skiing (yes we said skiing - inside a huge arena with snow!) there are tons of activities that can be arranged. There are many theme parks, hotels with aqua parks and theme parks onsite such as Atlantis. Holidays to Dubai will give you the option to lay back and relax, or for the more adventurous this place was made for exploring. The Buri Khalifa, which at 828 metres is the world's tallest building which towers over the city. This is the building that Tom Cruise ran down the outside in his Mission Impossible film, and has a viewing platform 124 floors up that offers spectacular views over the city skyline, the desert beyond and the Arabian Gulf, where you may just catch a glimpse of the man-made islands which are known as The World and The Palm.
As well as being home to some of the most famous modern landmarks, Dubai has also retained its Arabian history and culture. The Dubai Museum, located inside a fort, offers an insight into the city's past. Ski Dubai, a 22,500 square metre skiing emporium offers you a sharp contrast to the sand and sunshine of the resort. Found inside the Mall of Emirates, the largest in the world, you can spend the day skiing, snowboarding and testing out the jumps and ski lift.
As you'd expect from such a modern destination, a holiday to Dubai will involve enjoying local delicacies, it is a food lovers paradise and has many dining options. This cosmopolitan resort is a complex mix of eateries from fine dining to delicious street food. Chinese, German and Thai are just some of the flavours you can choose from with traditional local favourites also readily available. As you'd expect prices in hotel restaurants will be at the top end of the scale but for a cheaper and faster option sample a tasty kebab from a local street vendor.
The area around Dubai Creek is the oldest part of the city and it is home to many stalls selling local crafts and textiles as well as spices. The water taxi is the best and most fun way of getting around this area. Jumeirah beach is home to world class luxury hotels including the Burj Al Arab, shaped like a boats sail, it oozes luxury and is one of the leading hotels of the world. Most of the beach is private for hotel guests however there are some areas where tourists and locals alike can visit this beautiful stretch of sands and admire the views.
