Vainguinim Beach is set against a backdrop of low-lying hills and flanked by the Arabian Sea. The bay is lined with a good selection of hotels - many luxurious five-star properties with their own stretch of sand. Holidays to Vainguinim Beach offer a peaceful retreat and are a complete contrasts to the more northern resorts. Much of the beach has been purchased and taken over by hotels, so beach traders are banned here. Water sports-enthusiasts can enjoy water skiing; jet skiing, scuba diving and windsurfing.
This area was originally occupied by The Jesuits in the 16th-century when it was nothing more than an orchard. Vainguinim Beach is surrounded by a wealth of history and sightseeing. The resort is located just four miles from the Goan capital of Panjim, with its colonial Portuguese architecture and magnificent cathedral. Panjim also offers a wider selection of bars and restaurants.
Evenings in Vainguinim Beach are low key and can be spent enjoying cocktails or taking a moonlit stroll along the soft sand. Another popular haunt is the casino at the Cidade de Goa Beach Resort.
