The resort of Baga Beach is situated in the north of Goa by a rocky headland and is in fact one of the most northern of the main holiday resorts here. Baga holidays are all about enjoying the beautiful beach here which is miles long with lovely soft golden sands and ample sun loungers for relaxing and enjoying the warm sunshine. The resort caters well for all ages with families loving the fact that the Baga River at the end of the beach offers safer swimming for the kids than the sea.
Baga is situated around ten miles from the state capital of Goa, Panaji it is to the north of the lively resort of Calangute, and Anjuna which is north across the river. People have enjoyed holidays in Baga since the 1960's when it was the original hippy hangout. The famous Tito's night club will allow night owls to party until the early hours or they can always head into Calangute for a wider selection of lively nightlife.
The resort has a wide selection of craft stalls, shops, bars and restaurants. Food wise you can eat in a basic beach shack which would offer traditional Goan dishes or seafood fresh from that day's catch, then there are the many bars, cafes and restaurants that have something for all tastes and budgets. You can enjoy a drink in the beachside bars and cafes whilst watching the fisherman bring in the days catch.
