They have been popular with us Brit’s for more than fifty years and there is no sign of it ending anytime soon... in fact 2016 saw record numbers of visitors from the UK up by nearly 30%. The great thing about Majorca is that it really is a great all round holiday destination, with fantastic beaches to rival the Caribbean, lovely marinas, stunning scenery, vibrant nightlife and great shopping, plus the cultural side of things such as the stunning cathedral at Palma; there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Family holidays in Majorca are as popular as ever, with numerous resorts catering for all needs the modern family has. Alcudia is still the number one choice thanks in large to the gorgeous beaches, the plentiful shops, family friendly hotels, bars and restaurants. The water parks are always popular too and even some hotels have their own water slides too.
Couples love some of the charming resorts on the east coast such as Cala D’or, Cala Millor and Cala Bona or the more sophisticated and upmarket resort of Puerto Pollensa. The island ticks the box for all ages and tastes. If the beach is not your thing you can go hiking in the green hills and mountains or hire a car and see some of the real Majorca. A visit to the cosmopolitan capital of the island Palma is a must. Here you will find a huge selection of shops, pavement cafes and bars, restaurants, the stunning cathedral and a lovely marina. Bus services run from all the major resorts and it is a great day out.
