Florida has a huge array of places to visit. Orlando is the theme park capital of the world with the fantastic Walt Disney Resort, Universal Studios Florida and Seaworld Orlando to name a few. There are actually fifteen of them to enjoy and explore. With rides to suit all ages from white knuckle roller coasters , leisurely train rides and Cinderella’s castle, there is something for everyone.
Orlando has developed rapidly since Disney opened the Magic Kingdom in the 1970’s. There is now a huge choice of hotels, motels, apartments and villas all geared up to offer the maximum amount of enjoyment in this fantastic city. There are two theme parks for everyday of the week as well as a multitude of great shopping malls which are perfect to pick up a bargain on all the top international brands. International Drive and Kissimmee are the main places to stay and there are loads of great family friendly bars and restaurants in these areas.
Florida - Away from the theme parks
Why not get away from the city and sample the world famous Everglades. This is a large expanse of national park with dense green forests and grassy swamps. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the open spaces. Take a boat ride or kayak across the swamps and spot the odd alligator or enjoy some hiking or even a trip in a hot air balloon.
When the theme parks and Everglades have been done, head of to one of the fantastic beaches on the Gulf Coast such as St Petersburg, Clearwater or Fort Myers. The beautiful sands shelve gently into the warm waters and are some of the best beaches in the USA.
Why not head south and explore the cosmopolitan city of Miami, famous for its fantastic beaches or take a drive down to the Florida Keys.
