The resort of Paphos is located on the western side of Cyprus and is a place where the ancient world meets the modern one. As the ancient capital of Cyprus there is a number of fascinating sites to visit that date back a thousand years or more. In contrast the resort is home to a number of modern hotels and apartments which offer a comfortable base to stay.
British holidaymakers have been enjoying holidays in Paphos for many years thanks to the many flights that operate direct from local airports. The airport is around twenty five minutes drive from the resort centre so is a quick transfer after your flight meaning you have plenty of time to enjoy what the resort has on offer. There is a good bus service that links to the nearby golden sandy beach of Coral Bay as well as smaller resorts further up the coast such as Latchi and Polis. The birthplace of Aphrodite the Goddess of Love is said to be here too and a trip to Aphrodite Baths, where she is said to of bathed is available as an excursion.
